Millie May Windsor Lewis was the B team player of the match. The C team must be commended for their valiant effort playing with only 7 players. The D team started with 6 players until three willing first form came along to fill in. Thank you girls.
Tuesday was a very blustery day, starting off very wet but thankfully becoming brighter as the afternoon progressed. We were able to go ahead with more tennis and rounders v Guildford High. We lost the friendly U13 tennis, 7 sets to 2. The U14 A, B, C and D team also lost their matches but every PF girl worked hard throughout the entire matches. U12 Surrey League tennis team lost 8 set to 1 against Reigate Grammar School. The girls played some excellent rallies with sudden death at deuce.
At the U13 rounders v Claremont on Tuesday we say a much improved performance. Both A & B teams made quick, successful decisions with the A’s winning 14 - 5.5 and B’s winning 12 – 8. Philippa Williams and Imogen Garthwaite were the players of the match.
Finally, a beautiful sunny day for fixtures on Thursday, just as it should be for the Summer Term. We had a large rounders fixture with five teams playing. The U12A rounders team played an incredible game, with slick fielding and good decision making. They won convincingly 17.5 – 11. Emma Stewart was voted player of the match. The B, C, D and E teams all lost. The players of the matches for the B team were Vicky Wu, and for the C team Emma Wilder. It was lovely to have so many girls having fun and being involved in the fixture.
The friendly U13 tennis fixture was won by Prior’s Field 6-3.
It’s not over when you’re losing terribly …..it’s over when you quit – unknown.
